Weka Issues Mbele Campaign

As the country heads into the August 2022 general elections, Kenyans cite the escalating cost of living, corruption and unemployment as key issues they would like their leaders to focus on, while fear of marginalization and even post-election violence remains a concern. They also harbour doubts about the readiness of the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct credible elections.   It is against this backdrop that the #WekaIssuesMbele digital campaign was co-designed in partnership National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), Act Change Transform (ACT!), Electoral Law and Governance Institute for Africa (ELGIA) with support from USAID. The campaign provides compelling reasons for voters to peacefully engage in the electoral process, with conviction to select leaders who are setting forth clear agendas to address the plight of Kenyans while safeguarding the constitution of Kenya, voter and civic education and peace building
